Davis College women’s volleyball team continued their strong play as they beat visiting Penn State Worthington Nittany Lions 3-0 in a non-conference victory on Tuesday evening.
Coming off a loss at SUNY Delhi last Thursday, the Lady Falcons responded well by beating the Nittany Lions in 3 straight sets. Brooke Lewandoswki slammed home 9 kills and 6 service aces on the evening and teammate Linnea Sweeney had 5 kills and 4 aces as Davis combined for 23 kills and 23 service aces as a team. Loryn Sanders posted 18 assists and Jamie Brown served up 5 aces in the win.
Penn State had to play on their heals most of the match and were just not able to keep up with the Davis attack. Inaya Floyd posted 4 kills and 8 digs and Jess Berger also contributed 4 kills in the defeat.
Davis College improves to 5-2 on the season and has a break in the action until October 5 when they take on Penn State Hazleton at home at 7:00 p.m. Davis beat Penn State Hazleton earlier in the season by a score of 3-0.
