WORD OF LIFE
The Davis College Falcons volleyball team picked up a win over visiting Word of Life Huskies in 3 straight sets on Saturday.
The Falcons wasted no time in this one as they were connecting on all cylinders right away. Using a combination of 11 kills and only 4 errors, they were able to take control of the match winning the first set by a 25-11 margin. In the second and third sets, the Huskies competed hard but in the end were outmatched, as the Falcons took both sets by scores of 25-17.
Linnea Sweeney (Cortland, NY) led the Falcons with 10 of the team’s 32 kills on the day. Loryn Sanders (Chambersburg, PA) was on top of her game as she set up 26 assists and Erica Stockwell (Norwich, NY) had a game high 38 digs.
After the win, the Falcons improve to 5-2 on the season. Next up is a home tri-match this Saturday against Christendom College (#3 in the latest USCAA Coaches Poll) and the Culinary Institute of America. The Falcons take on Christendom at 10:00 a.m. and then Culinary at 2:00 p.m.
