Alainey Banks enters her second season as head coach of the Davis College women’s volleyball program. Prior to being named head coach, she served one season as the assistant coach for the team.
In her first season, Coach Banks took the program to new heights. Her team won the most matches in school history and earned a spot as the #2 seed in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) Post-Season Tournament. As a result, two of her players were named to the All-Conference Team and Coach Banks was named the HVIAC Coach of the Year.
Alainey is a graduate of Davis College and played for the women’s volleyball team for all her four years as a student. She was named to the HVIAC All-Conference team two years in a row as well as being named an Academic All-American twice. Alainey has always loved the game of volleyball and played in various tournaments and leagues throughout her career. She is currently the Women’s Resident Director at Davis College.
Alainey has a desire to see players not only reach their fullest athletic potential, but grow spiritually through their experience with athletics. She believes that athletics are a great platform for learning leadership skills, people skills, and work ethic. Her goal is to help players become the best athlete they can be while striving to be more like Christ every day as they participate.
Alainey’s husband, Zach graduated from Davis College in 2016 and is currently the Men’s Resident Director at Davis College as well as the Youth Pastor at Central Baptist Church in Binghamton, NY. They live on campus with their one year old son, Rowan.
