The Davis College Lady Falcons hosted The King’s College Lions on Senior Day and won convincingly, 63-25 on Saturday.

The Lady Falcons defense was too tough for the Lions to score on in the first quarter as the Falcons opened up a 21-4 advantage. Senior Braedyn Mims (Calvert County, MD) once again led the defensive charge as she set the tone for her teammates. No player for the Lions would reach double figures and they would shoot only 18% from the field including 1 for 17 from the three point line on the day. The Falcons went in to halftime leading 35-11 and would cruise to the win in the second half.

Mims would finish the day with 16 points, 15 rebounds (9 on the defensive end), 3 steals, and a blocked shot. Senior Elizabeth Bath (Ballston Spa, NY) would add on 6 points in the victory while Michaela McLeod (West Milford, NJ) would contribute a great all-around performance with 9 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals while freshmen Elizabeth Singleton (Schenectady, NY) scored a game high 22 points.

The win gives the Lady Falcons (17-3) a perfect 5-0 record in Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) play, securing them the regular season title for the second season in a row. They are red hot coming into the playoffs, winning all 8 games this semester and playing as the number one seed in this weekend’s HVIAC Championship. They will take on The King’s College once again in a 1:00 p.m. game at The College of New Rochelle on Saturday.
