The Davis College Lady Falcons earned their 11th win of the season on Friday night, beating the College of New Rochelle (CNR), 73-63.

This was the Lady Falcon’s first road win against their conference rival CNR since joining the HVIAC in 2015. After several lead changes in the first quarter, CNR stretched their lead to 8 in the second. The Lady Falcons secured some key defensive rebounds and cut the deficit to 5 at the half. Davis came out firing to start the third, out scoring CNR 25-11 in the quarter. Although CNR would battle back, the Lady Falcons secured the victory with clutch free throws down the stretch by sophomore Michaela McLeod, who finished with 14 points and 15 rebounds, a career-high for McLeod and her 7th double-double of the season. Freshman Ali Aten could not be stopped behind the arc, hitting 7 of 13 threes, one short of the school record. Aten added 8 boards and two blocks to round out the best overall performance of her young collegiate career. Freshman Elizabeth Singleton turned in the second double-double for Davis on the night with 20 points and 11 boards, and added 5 assists.

Next up for the Falcons (11-3) is a visit to Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences on Saturday for a HVIAC conference game at 2:00 p.m.
