Davis College Lady Falcons picked up their 5th win of the early season on Tuesday, beating visiting Cayuga Community College in a non-conference match-up by a score of 77-68.
The game remained close for most of the contest as neither team was able to take much of a command over the other. Finally the Falcons were able to separate themselves just enough down the stretch as Brooke Lewandowski scored in 3 straight possessions to extend the lead for Davis to 11 in the 4th quarter.
Thanks to their 2-3 defense, Davis was able to limit the visitors to just 29.5% FG shooting and grabbed a total of 57 rebounds on the evening. Despite Cayuga’s poor shooting, they hung around by causing 19 turnovers. Senior, Jamie Brown, had a monster game posting 30 points, shooting 5 from 8 from the three point line to go along with 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Lewandowski finished with a double double pouring in 26 points and 14 rebounds in the win.
The Falcons improve to 5-2 on the season and take to the road on Thursday as they play at Penn State Brandywine at 6:00 p.m.
