PENN STATE HAZLETON

The Davis College women’s volleyball program improved to 6-2 on the year as they beat visiting Penn State Hazleton for a second time this season by a score of 3-0 on Thursday evening.

The Lady Falcons have gotten used to winning at home this season.  In fact, they haven’t lost a single set at home in almost a full month dating back to 9/7 in a match against SUNY Broome.  Since that time they have gone 4-0 at home winning all 12 of the sets played.

In this match-up they took control right from the start scoring the first 5 points on serves from sophomore Linnea Sweeney.  The team never looked back and took the first set 25-16.  The next two sets weren’t any closer as the home team won both by scores of 25-11 and 25-13.  Davis had 30 kills on the evening led by 7 from Tiffany Davis and Brooke Lewandowski, 6 from Linnea Sweeney, and 4 from Loryn Sanders who also had 17 assists in the match.  Jamie Brown had a match high 6 digs in the win.

Davis College begins conference play this weekend as they travel to The Culinary Institute of America on Saturday in a 3:00 p.m. match.
