Falcons Earn Several Individual Honors

The Davis College men’s and women’s basketball teams took home several individual post-season awards in both the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) and United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) from the 2017-2018 season.

The women, who won their first ever Regular Season HVIAC Championshp, saw 3 players named the 2017-2018 HVIAC All-Conference Team.  Brooke Lewandowski received her second all-conference selection as she led Davis in scoring (19.4 ppg) and rebounding (12.4 rpg).  Sharp-shooting senior point guard Jamie Brown (16.7 ppg and 3.8 apg) and do-it-all junior Braedyn Mims (9.6 ppg and 9.6 rpg) were also selected to the All-Conference Team.  Head Coach, Larry Ellis, led the team to a 16-11 record (most wins in his 8 year era) and was named HVIAC Coach of the Year.

On the national level, the USCAA announced the Women’s Basketball All-Americans and  Lewandowski was named to the 2nd team and Brown was Honorable Mention.

As for the men’s team, sophomore Jackson Henri took home a nod on the HVIAC All-Conference as well as Honorable Mention on the USCAA All-American Team.  Henri’s ability to score inside and out allowed him to lead the team in scoring with 16.7 per game and was second on the team in rebounding grabbing 6.4 per game.  Freshmen Anthony Gathings was named HVIAC Rookie of the Year as he averaged 16.7 points per game and 5.1 rebounds per game during conference play.
