Davis College Lady Falcons, ranked 13th in the country in the latest USCCA polls, lost a home match-up to Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) by a score of 69-78 on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Jamie Brown scored her 1,000 point for Davis College on a beautiful left-handed floater in the lane late in the second half.  Brown, who transferred in to Davis before her sophomore year, has played in 68 games for the Falcons and has maintained a 14.8 points per game average during that span to hit the milestone.  In this particular game, she scored a game high 25 points, netting 6 threes, grabbing 7 rebounds, to go along with 4 assists and 3 steals.

ACPHS jumped out to the early lead thanks to some accurate shooting in the first 2 quarters and took a 45-33 lead into halftime.  However, the Falcons would respond with a huge third quarter as they outscored the visitors 20-10 and cut the lead to 55-53 heading in to the fourth quarter.  Brooke Lewandowski once again dominated the glass for the Falcons as she hauled in 17 of them including 9 on the offensive end to go with her 22 points on 9 of 15 shooting.  In the 4th quarter, the ladies seem to run out of gas as they were limited in available players due to injuries.  All 5 starters played the entire 40 minutes for the Falcons and they just could not make the plays down the stretch to get the win.

ACPHS’ Emma Webster led her team with 23 points making 5 threes and Dannie Griffin was a problem inside as she posted 16 points, 13 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks in the win.

The loss drops the Falcons record to 11-8 on the season and 2-1 in conference play.  Next up is a non-conference game at SUNY Delhi on Tuesday, January 30, at 5:00 p.m.
