Davis College Residence
Life FAQ's
May I
have a pet? Pets, other than
fish, are not allowed in residence hall rooms.
May I
have a microwave in my room?
Sorry, but fire code regulations do not allow us to permit
cooking appliances in residence hall rooms. Microwaves are
provided in the lounges and kitchenette.
May I
bring a refrigerator? You may
bring a compact frig for your dorm room. However, space is
limited, and we suggest that you coordinate with your
roommate to share a frig.
Can I
have my own room? Because space
is limited, all new students should plan on sharing a room
with one other student. A few single rooms are available,
but these are usually occupied by upperclassmen.
Who
will I room with? If you know
another student at Davis, you may request to be roommates by
contacting the Office of Student Development. If you are a
new student, please fill out the Roommate Questionnaire
[clickable]. Your answers will help us match you with a
roommate who has similar preferences or interests.
Can I
bring my car? Yes, you may. You
will register your car with Student Development during
registration.
Can I
move into my room early? You will
be notified of the date that the residence halls are open.
Please do not plan to come early, as meals will not be
available and your room will not be ready for you. If
extremely pressing circumstances exist, please contact the
Office of Student Development for possible alternatives.
How
will I get mail? As soon as you
arrive on campus, you should visit the U.S. Post Office
located on campus to rent a box. You will not be able to
receive mail through the college. Campus addresses are as
follows:
Student
