Stacy
Gorsline is the Women's Soccer coach at Davis College.
She is
completing her BRE at Davis (2010-2011) with a concentration
in Counseling.
Stacy has
been a part of the women's soccer program at Davis for the
last two years as a player and team captain. She has been
awarded the Coach's Award and the Spiritual Leader Award
from the Davis College team.
Stacy has
been coaching soccer for 8 years and holds state and
national certificates and licenses. She has coached both
boys and girls from ages 8 to 19 in a competitive travel
league and has also coached girls modified soccer at the
Newark Valley High School.
Stacy
understands the value that being part of a team brings to
one’s life. Players receive physical, emotional, mental,
and spiritual training. Stacy believes that the lessons
learned through competitive sports can foster genuine
humility as the girls learn to put the team’s needs and
goals before their own. It instills a drive to persevere
through pain, and players discover the rewards that come
through long term gratification. Players are encouraged to
deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ as they learn to
live within the team community.
Coach
Gorsline is looking forward to bringing her passion,
experience, and knowledge of soccer to the women's program
at Davis College.
Stacy lives
in Newark Valley with her husband Adrian. They have five
soccer playing children ranging in age from 11 to 20.
