The
Seven Story Praise Band
The Seven Story Praise Band
is a group of Davis College staff and students who desire to
serve God through music and worship. The group,
also known as the "President's Worship Team", has ministered
in
Tuesday President's
Chapel, and at other campus events. The praise band has
opened for Christian artists at local concerts and has
provide pre- and post-game music for three separate
"Faith and Family Nights"
in 2005 with the Binghamton Mets at NYSEG stadium.
The group's focus is that
they (the group of musicians)
are not the praise band; everyone with the Seven
Story Praise Band at any
given event singing to the Lord, are the praise band.
As stated by Dr. Davis, the praise band desires "to be of
great service to Him".
The group's name emerged
from a sermon originally preached by the College's founder,
Dr. John A. Davis. The Seven Story Praise Band seeks to
honor Dr. Davis's commitment to excellence in ministry and
Christian outreach. Contemporary arrangements of familiar
hymns are intermingled with current praise and worship music
that will uplift and encourage listeners.

"Get right
with God; believe it, a great peace will come into your soul
as it came into mine. May the precious Holy Spirit bring
home to your heart just where you are --Romans 8:28. Grow in
grace; let us believe, and go higher in the Christian life,
if we are in the building. If not in the building, may this
be the moment you will enter in and be saved, through the
door Christ, and keep going higher until we shall be of
great service to Him." -- John A. Davis, Founder of Davis
College (1900), excerpted from his sermon, The Seven Story
Christian.
