On a new semester
My dear students welcome back to a another semester. I hope you are as excited as I am about the material that lies before us. If not a quick review of my courses will suffice. Hebrew 2 continues the adventure of learning the language of God; just ask any of last semester's students how much they know now compared to their original ignorance. Heb 4 has potential to be the best course in the school, but it is taken by the fewest number of students: if the thought of Hebrew discourse analysis doesn't get the juices flowing, I don't know what would. Historical Books opens the first door after Moses; asking the question, I wonder if the second generation will listen where their parents failed. Finally there are the psalms. I quote from the syllabus: "Reading the psalms opens a dialogue between the communicant and God which exposes both to the complexities of an established and mutually accountable relationship." I haven't quite deciphered all of that yet, but I think it means we will learn how to talk with and listen to God during all of our lives' struggles.
Now as for that registration, I think of Isaiah 28:10!
