Pastoral Studies
Concentration at Davis
Meet an Alumnus: Peter Seide is a 2008 graduate from the
Pastoral Studies program at Davis college. Peter is a worship leader
and musician who came to Davis College from West Orange, New Jersey.
His wife, Holly is from Averill Park, New York.
In Pete's Words:
"I chose Davis because it is a close-knit
community where I could actually get to know people, and tuition is
affordable. My wife and I were told that it was a great school, and
the care Davis College shows for its students makes a difference.
Professors always welcome students to come in and talk even when
they are busy.
One of the best things I have received from my time here at Davis
College is the relationships that I have been able to form with
teachers. It has been an unreal experience to see how kind and open
faculty and staff are, and I haven't had a teacher that I haven't
felt comfortable having a conversation with. I'm blown away by the
integrity of the faculty. It is obvious that they genuinely strive
to please and serve the Lord. I am very grateful for the pastoral
classes I have taken at Davis. Professor Stan Baker and Professor
Russ Smith taught me many life-changing principles. I feel
overwhelmed by how blessed I have been to learn from them.
My future goal is to be the head pastor of a church. I hope to be a
part of a church that has a team of leaders; I believe that you need
more than one person to run an effective church. My wife and I also
want to serve within our community by being hospitable to others."
