Youth Ministry Program in the News
November 2008: Davis College Youth Ministries Concentration
Redesign Approved by New York State Board of Regents
Professor
Christopher Seavey and his Design Team, a group of students
in the Youth Ministries Concentration who actively shape the
program’s core components, are pleased to announce that New
York State has approved changes made to the program.
The Youth
Ministries program has been a core of Davis College since
1993 and has been consistently among the top three programs
with the highest enrollment rates at the college.
The program
was redesigned to better equip students with fieldwork
experience throughout three years of their college
experience. Partnerships with local ministries provide key
internships that impact the lives of youth ministries
students, as well as adolescents throughout the Southern
Tier, by providing personal interaction, planning, and
growth.
Mr. Seavey
believes, “The Department of Youth Ministry at Davis College
is a resource for the Northeast United States and the world
– we are a leader in rethinking the education and training
of men and women preparing to shape the lives of youth, and
our redesigned program better reflects the strengths of the
Davis College youth ministries program.”
