Art
Boulet, pictured at left with his wife Liz, is a 2005 Davis
graduate who went on to graduate from Westminster
Theological Seminary with an M.A. in Religion (Biblical
Studies) in 2009. He is currently working on finishing an
M.Div. at Princeton Theological Seminary in order to pursue
doctoral studies in the near future. While at Westminster
Art worked with an urban church plant in Center City
Philadelphia in their apologetics outreach called 'Doubt
Night.' He has lectured at Temple University, the
University of Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia University on
issues surrounding the understanding of Scripture in the
second Temple and early Christian period. He also had the
opportunity to do a month-long series of lectures at Eastern
University on Genesis within its ancient Near Eastern
context. Art has published book reviews in the Review of
Biblical Literature and have an article (forthcoming) in the
Journal for the Study of the Pseudepigrapha. He has
presented papers at the Society of Biblical Literature's Mid
Atlantic Regional Meetings (2009 in Baltimore, MD and 2010
in New Brunswick, NJ) and Annual Meeting (2009 in New
Orleans, LA). This summer Art is traveling to Tartu,
Estonia to present a paper at the Society of Biblical
Literature's 2010 International Meeting.
In Art's Words:
"My time at Davis cultivated a love for studying Scripture
that continues to this day. Learning to read Scripture in
Hebrew and Greek opened a new world in learning how to
understand Scripture on its own terms. At Davis I was given
key building blocks that continue to influence the way I
think about Scripture and the implications it has for
Christians today. The Pastoral program at Davis stressed the
importance of applying knowledge to the life of the Church
in an applicable and theologically helpful way. Because of
Davis I not only love studying Scripture as an academic
discipline, but also have a deep love for serving the Church
with everything that I learn."
Joshua Allen, Class of 2012
I
like the fact that everyone on campus knows everyone else,
students interact with teachers (at lunch, during chapel,
etc.) -- this was something I wanted for my college
experience.
I chose the Pastoral Studies Concentration at
Davis because I felt called to ministry; Davis College is
committed to training students in the Truth of God's Word.
My ministry and career goals are to reach my fullest
potential and shepherd the sheep of the church with a
resolve to preach the Word of God. I am excited about the
future, and God's plans for Davis College. The size of Davis
College lends itself to genuine interest from the professors
and staff - they invest themselves in my life. I have been
impressed by the unity and positive attitude on the campus.
Professors are available to spend time with students, and
students enjoy spending time with each other. I feel that I
am known as an individual, not as a number.

Year NYSPHA from Faith Heritage High School in Syracuse, New
York.
Peter Seide, Class of
2008
I
chose Davis because it is a close-knit community where I
could actually get to know people, and tuition is
affordable. My wife and I were told that it was a great
school, and the care Davis College shows for its students
makes a difference. Professors always welcome students to
come in and talk even when they are busy.
One of the best things I have received
from my time here at Davis College is the relationships that
I have been able to form with teachers. It’s been an unreal
experience to see how kind and open faculty and staff are,
and I haven’t had a teacher that I haven’t felt comfortable
having a conversation with. I’m blown away by the integrity
of the faculty. It is obvious that they genuinely strive to
please and serve the Lord. I am very grateful for the
pastoral classes I have taken at Davis. Professor Stan Baker
and Professor Russ Smith taught me many life-changing
principles. I feel overwhelmed by how blessed I have been to
learn from them.
My future goal is to be the head pastor
of a church. I hope to be a part of a church that has a team
of leaders; I believe that you need more than one person to
run an effective church. My wife and I also want to serve
within our community by being hospitable to others.

musician who came to Davis College from West Orange, New
Jersey.
