Personal
Information
Marieta was raised
in Kansas City, Kansas, and raised by her grandparents
with her three siblings. She has one son, Wayne, and
has cared for twenty-four foster children over a
ten-year period. Her interests are varied, including
writing poetry and novels, reading, drawings,
painting, and working in graphic arts. She has
traveled to England, Ireland, Denmark and Canada, as
well as throughout the United States.
After retiring,
Marieta moved to New York in January of 2000 and has
been an adjunct professor of art at Davis since
Spring 2002.
