Purpose:
The
International Studies major is designed to give both a
general overview of the whole field of missions and a
specialization that will enable students to function
effectively in the missions area of their choice. The
programs have been designed for individuals planning to
serve cross-culturally.
Objectives:
In addition
to the educational objectives of the College, the student
graduating from the International Studies major will be able
to:
1) Understand the biblical and
balanced correlation of world missions and the local church.
2) Demonstrate a knowledge of
the biblical foundation and history of missions.
3) Demonstrate skills in the
use of tools and techniques for the propagation of the
Gospel.
4) Demonstrate an understanding
of variations in cultures around the world and give evidence
of understanding how to adjust to life within these
cultures.
5) Demonstrate sufficient
preparation to be approved and accepted by a fundamental
mission agency. |
