A Message from Dr.
Gil Parker, Acting Chairperson
Creative Arts and
Worship in Ministry
A Davis
College education in Creative Arts will provide you with a
unique opportunity to study God's Word in depth, grow in
your relationship with God, and gain the skill and knowledge
in the arts that you need to serve Him. Our music courses
focus on understanding, performing, and writing contemporary
Christian music. Our drama courses focus on the practical
aspects of acting, writing and production in the context of
Christian worship and ministry.
What will
you do when you graduate? Our students are prepared to serve
God as music directors, worship pastors, creative arts
coordinators, and drama coaches in local churches and para-church
organizations. Our students, depending on the electives they
take are also prepared to serve in dual ministry positions
within the church, such as Youth and Music, Christian
Education and Drama, or Family Ministries and Creative Arts,
to name a few.
As music
director and worship leader in one of the larger churches in
Greater Binghamton, God has granted me the privilege of
directing the choir, organizing drama productions, and
working with our worship teams. Is God calling you to serve
Him in a similar way? If so, I hope that you will consider
studying and learning with us at Davis College.
