About the
School
1926
Theologue, p. 7: "This Training School stands as a great
lighthouse, sending forth its rays of light into all parts
of the world, to guide those who are groping in darkness
safely into the harbor of Eternal life."
From the
Founder, Dr. John A. Davis
1929
Theologue, Message to the Graduating Class, p. 8:
"...Remember that success is not always distant nor need you
strain your eyes to pierce the uncertain future. Success
lies at your very door when you make the most of the present
and dedicate and consecrate every faculty of body and mind
and spirit. In the history of our School some have gone out,
gifted with many talents; others apparently, with only one.
As time goes on our hearts are delighted with the unexpected
accomplishments of the latter. To find his place and fill
it, or in other words "Adapt Yourself" is success for man.
Keep in mind these rare gems which will crown your efforts
with success, be strong, be true, be faithful, be pure, be
loyal and He who ever seeks the souls of men, will find His
way to some of them through you."

Speakers through Our History
"There are
no difficulties to them who will." -- Rev. Billy Sunday,
1929
P. 48 of the
1926 Theologue states, "The Class of '27 has a remarkable
history. Coming to Bible School in the Fall of 1924 from
home, from farm, from school, and from shop, they entered as
raw material, and are doing splendidly along all lines.
Earlier in the season a number of the young men ran in the
school relay race which extended over a course of sixty
miles between Bible School Park, NY, and the Billy Sunday
Tabernacle at Elmira, NY." As a result of this relay, the
last runner ran up the aisle of the Tabernacle and delivered
a written invitation to Rev. Sunday, from John A. Davis, to
come to Binghamton. He accepted.
Page 74 of
the 1929 Theologue states, "The first part of November saw
preparations well under way for the construction of the
"Billy" Sunday Tabernacle. Dr. G. W. Price of the Bible
School Faculty was the Executive Secretary of the campaign.
The boys assisted in the loading of the lumber which had
been brought down from the Elmira Tabernacle, which was used
in the construction of the Binghamton Tabernacle. The months
of January and February were two eventful months in the
year's history, for it was during this time that "Billy"
Sunday and his party held a seven weeks' Evangelistic
Campaign in Binghamton. Thousands of souls were saved and
the students of the School were afforded a blessed
opportunity of doing practical Christian Work every night,
and also of putting into practice many of the ideas received
in their classes. It gave us all the great privilege of
witnessing for our Master and many of us were used in
bringing souls to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ."
