Daniel Rathmell

Dan enters his third year as the head coach of the Davis College men’s basketball program and his sixth season overall coaching college basketball. He served two seasons as an assistant coach at Davis College and one year as an assistant at Broome Community College prior to being named the head coach at Davis College in 2009.
The men’s basketball program experienced great success in the 2010-2011 season, as coach Rathmell lead Davis College to it’s first conference title in school history, winning the Shenandoah & Chesapeake Conference. The team went on to the Small Bible College National Invitational Tournament held in Lanham, Maryland and won the National Championship game in double OT 100-93. The team concluded the season with a 19-13 overall record, as the Falcons played a very strong non-conference schedule that included eight games versus teams ranked in the top ten in the nation in either the NCCAA, NJCAA, or USCAA.
In 2004, Dan graduated from Susquehanna University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He was a four-time varsity letterman for a winning program which included the league regular season championship in 2002-2003. As a high school graduate of Windsor, New York, Dan was a starter for three SUS league championship teams, including a Section 4 championship in 1998-1999. Dan is a member of the STOP-DWI Holiday Classic All-Time Regional Team and was SUS league MVP in 1999-2000.
Dan understands what it takes to be a successful student athlete and has a strong desire to help others reach their full potential both on and off the basketball court. College athletics helps develop strong leadership skills as well as communication and teamwork. At Davis College, students will learn to utilize these skills as a means of ministry opportunities for Christ.
Dan will also serve as the Resident Director of Patterson Hall at Davis College this year and will reside on campus with his wife, Rebecca. Rebecca graduated in 2008 from Davis College with a degree in counseling and is now a donor relations specialist for the Binghamton Rescue Mission.
